Who is considered an exempt employee for overtime purposes?

Exempt employees are those whose primary duties are classified as executive, administrative, professional, or outside sales under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). These employees are exempt from FLSA overtime provisions that require premium cash pay for hours worked over forty (40.0) in a workweek.
