When can an employee injured in an assault be kept on regular payroll without using sick leave?

If an employee is injured in the line of duty as a result of an assault and cannot perform regular duties, the appointing authority (with prior approval from the Commissioners of Finance and Administration and Human Resources) must retain the employee on regular payroll for up to twenty-eight (28) calendar days without requiring the use of sick leave.

This leave must be coded as Assault Pay (ASSLT) in the attendance and leave record.
