How is leave handled if an employee needs more than six weeks of paid parental leave?

Any leave taken beyond the six (6) workweeks of paid parental leave will be charged to the employee’s accumulated leave balance (sick, annual, or compensatory leave). If the employee has no balance or chooses to hold part of their leave, the additional time will be designated as leave without pay.
