Who is eligible for parental leave?

Employees with at least twelve (12) consecutive months of full-time state service may take up to four (4) months of parental leave. This leave may be used for adoption, pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing an infant.

 

The four (4) months include leave required before and after childbirth. For adoption, the four (4) months begin when the employee receives custody of the child.
