Is there a limit to how much sick leave an employee can donate?

Yes. An employee may not donate more than one-half of their available sick leave balance at the time of donation.

For example:

  • If an employee has 200 hours, they may donate up to 100 hours.
  • If their balance later drops to 110 hours, they may donate up to 55 hours.

The overall maximum donation across a career is 90 days. Employees may donate more than once to the same person as long as limits are met.
