Donated sick leave allows state employees to transfer their sick leave to another employee who is a member of the Sick Leave Bank (SLB) and unable to work due to a serious personal illness, injury, disability, medical condition, or quarantine, or due to the illness of their minor child.
To qualify, the employee receiving donated leave must:
- Be a current SLB member.
- Have used all sick, annual, compensatory, and SLB leave available.
- Have a continuing medical condition that prevents performing job duties.
- Not be receiving other types of paid benefits (such as Paid Parental Leave, Paid Family Leave, disability, or retirement benefits).
