How much sick leave can be used for a death in the family?

Employees may use up to three (3) days of sick leave for the death of a family member.
This is in addition to any Bereavement Leave allowed under Section 5.09.

If the funeral is held in another city or town, extra travel time may be approved. Documentation explaining the need for additional time should be placed in the employee’s leave file.
