Who can earn sick leave and how is it calculated?

Employees earn sick leave at the rate of twelve (12) days per year, starting on their hire date and again on each service anniversary date.

The rules for who can earn sick leave are the same as those for annual leave. The rate of accrual does not change while employed.

If there are breaks in paid state employment, the service anniversary date is adjusted to match the employee’s actual time worked.
