What is Emotional Wellbeing Support (EWS) time?

Employees may be excused for up to 10 hours per year to attend EWS programs or counseling (formerly EAP). This time is confidential and should be coded as time worked (not leave).

If EWS refers the employee to outside services, further time off should be coded as sick, comp, or annual leave as appropriate.

Travel time counts within the 10 hours (e.g., five 1-hour sessions + up to 30 minutes travel before/after each = 10 hours).
