- Duration: 12 to 24 months.
- Start Date: Begins on the employee’s first day of employment or the effective date of their promotion to a new role.
- Purpose: Must be completed to become a Preferred Service employee.
Important Notes:
- During the probationary period, an employee may be terminated for any reason, subject to applicable laws, rules, and policies.
- Employees serving their initial probationary period (first 12 months of State employment) are not eligible for appeal rights if terminated.
