What is terminal leave?

Terminal leave is time off using your remaining annual leave, starting immediately after your last full workday.

Key points include:

  • You may qualify for holiday pay during terminal leave if you have at least 0.1 hours of leave remaining after the holiday.
  • Compensatory time must be used first before terminal leave begins.
  • If you retire before excess leave (over the cap) converts to sick leave, it will be paid out.
