How do I get Veteran's Preference as active military?

Submit a letter from your commanding officer on official letterhead stating you're active and on track for an honorable discharge.

• This letter is valid for 90 days and must be updated or replaced with a DD214 showing honorable discharge.

Important: You must include the letter or DD214 when submitting your application to qualify for Veteran’s Preference.
