Veterans’ Preference may not have been applied for several reasons, including:
- Documentation was missing, incomplete, unclear, or did not establish eligibility.
- Documentation was not available for review before the job posting’s closing date.
- Documentation was attached to a different applicant account than the one used to apply.
- The applicant transitioned between external, internal, or newly created applicant accounts and did not ensure the required Veterans’ Preference documentation was attached to the account being used.
- The applicant did not meet the eligibility requirements for Veterans’ Preference.
If Veterans’ Preference is not applied to a posting, the applicant may receive a notification explaining that the application was forwarded to the hiring manager without Veterans’ Preference applied.
Before submitting an application, verify that the required Veterans’ Preference documentation is attached to the applicant account you are using.
