Yes. After the list of applicants has been sent to the hiring agency for review, you will receive a notification regarding your Veterans’ Preference status for that posting in your applicant portal under the “My Notifications” section and via email.
If your Veterans’ Preference status is verified, the notification will state that your application was forwarded to the hiring manager with Veterans’ Preference applied.
If your Veterans’ Preference status is not verified, the notification will state that Veterans’ Preference was not applied due to missing, incomplete, unclear, or insufficient documentation. Your application may still be forwarded to the hiring manager for review, but without Veterans’ Preference applied.
To help avoid issues, make sure the required Veterans’ Preference documentation is attached to the applicant account you are using before the job posting’s closing date.
