How do I elect to hold leave during my FMLA absence?

An employee whose leave is being designated as FMLA qualifying will receive a form to complete along with their Notice of Eligibility and Rights and Responsibilities Notice. The form documents key details for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) request, including personal contact information, agency details, and preferences for electing to hold or not hold accrued leave during the FMLA leave.

The employee will have the option to hold up to 10 days of any accrued leave in a leave year by selecting, "I wish to hold days from my accrued leave while out on FMLA" in the "Leave hold options" section of the form. Once this selection is made, you may elect the number of days you request to hold (up to 10 days) and the leave type.
