What is the FMLA?

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is a federal law that gives eligible employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave per year for certain family and medical conditions. The FMLA also requires the employee’s group health benefits to be maintained during the leave period.
