Employees may use a maximum of six (6) workweeks of leave for Paid Family Leave (PFL)and Paid Parental Leave (PPL) absences combined within a twelve (12) month period. If an employee qualifies for both types of leave during this period, the total duration of leave taken for both reasons may not exceed six weeks.
For example, in January 2026, an employee uses five weeks of PFL to care for a family member who is on hospice care. In May 2026, the employee has a baby and takes PPL. Because the employee has already used five weeks of paid leave, they are limited to one week of PPL.
