Employees can only take Paid Family Leave (PFL) to care for their child, spouse, parent, or grandchild (if they have custody of the grandchild at the time leave is requested). The definitions for child, spouse, and parent have the same definitions as “spouse,” “parent,” and “son/daughter” in section 6.03 of the State’s Attendance and Leave Manual.
