What happens to compensatory time before terminal leave or separation?

A retiring employee must use their earned compensatory time before terminal leave begins.

If the retiring employee has no terminal leave, the compensatory time must be used before separation, or the employee may choose to receive a lump-sum payment at separation.

Employees who are terminated for gross misconduct must be paid for all accumulated compensatory time.
