What happens if an employee doesn’t return after extended leave?

Employees who fail to return to work within two (2) days after the end of an approved special leave period are considered to have resigned under Tennessee Code Annotated, unless there are extenuating circumstances beyond their control.

An employee deemed to have resigned under these conditions has the right to appeal through the appeal procedure outlined in Tennessee Code Annotated.
