How is extended leave accounted for?

Extended leave may be approved for:

  • Special leave
  • Parental leave
  • Educational or personal educational leave
  • Division of Claims Administration leave
  • Sick Leave Bank leave
  • Military leave

The effective date of extended leave is the first full day the employee is without pay.

A copy of the appointing authority’s approval—or military orders, if applicable—must be sent to the Department of Human Resources.
