What happens if an employee fails to provide medical certification for FMLA leave?

If the need for FMLA leave is foreseeable and the employee does not provide medical certification within the required time (at least 15 calendar days), the employee’s leave may be denied until certification is submitted.
If the need for leave is unforeseeable, the employee must provide certification within a reasonable timeframe set by the FMLA Coordinator, based on the medical circumstances.
Failure to do so may result in denial of continued FMLA leave.
