When is medical certification required for FMLA leave?

The FMLA Coordinator may require medical certification when an employee requests FMLA leave due to:
•    Their own serious health condition,
•    The serious health condition of a spouse, child, parent, or next of kin, or
•    A qualified military caregiver situation.
The Coordinator must provide written notice each time certification is required.
