Employees who are eligible for Paid Parental Leave under Section 13.02 may receive up to six (6) workweeks of paid leave for:
• The birth of a child and bonding within one year, or
• Placement of a child for adoption and bonding within one year.
Paid Parental Leave:
• Does not use sick, annual, or compensatory leave.
• Counts as full-time employment for anniversary date calculations.
• Must be used within one year of the qualifying event.
• Cannot exceed six (6) workweeks in a 12-month period, even if there is more than one birth or adoption.
Any additional FMLA leave taken beyond Paid Parental Leave will use the employee’s accrued leave (unless the employee elects to hold leave as noted).
If no accrued leave is available, the time will be unpaid.
