Can an employee be temporarily reassigned while using intermittent or reduced FMLA leave?

Yes. If intermittent or reduced leave is needed for planned medical treatment—for the employee, a family member, or a covered service member—the appointing authority may temporarily transfer the employee to another position that:
•    Has equivalent pay and benefits,
•    Is better suited for the recurring leave schedule, and
•    Does not discourage or create hardship for the employee.
