How much FMLA leave can an employee take?

Most eligible employees may take up to twelve (12) workweeks of FMLA leave during a twelve (12) month period. This equals sixty (60) workdays, including holidays.
The 12-month period begins on the first day FMLA leave is taken and extends 12 months forward. A new 12-month period begins the first time FMLA leave is taken after the previous period ends.
