What is Military Caregiver Leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)?

Military Caregiver Leave allows an eligible employee to take up to 26 workweeks of job-protected leave in a single 12-month period to care for a covered service member with a serious injury or illness.
This leave may be used by the service member’s spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin.
Employees must use any accrued annual, sick, or compensatory leave before entering a leave without pay status.
For more information, visit the State of Tennessee Attendance and Leave Manual.
