What is the State of Tennessee Attendance and Leave Manual?

The Attendance and Leave Manual explains the rules for attendance and leave for Tennessee State Government employees.

It is created by the Department of Human Resources (DOHR) in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated § 8-30-104.

The manual gives general guidance on employee rights and responsibilities. It is not a contract and does not limit the State’s legal protections.

Federal or state law changes override the manual. DOHR may update the manual at any time, for any reason, without notice, though it will try to inform employees of major changes.

Employees are encouraged to review and retain a copy for reference.

For questions, contact your supervisor, your agency HR division, or DOHR.
