Who can be an authorized representative for Section 2?

Employers can designate anyone (supervisor, notary, agent). Employees cannot complete Section 2 on their own behalf. Employers remain liable for errors.

For Tennessee State Government, anyone with the following Edison security roles has access to complete the I-9 within Edison:

  • HR-1003 - HR Agency HR Admin
  • HR-1004 - HR Agency HR Staff
  • HR-1011 - HR Agency Dept HR Admins
  • HR-1007 - HR Position Update
